Man caught on video slapping a young woman at a bus stop for not wearing hijab

A video of a man slapping a woman for not wearing the hijab ( muslim headscarf) at a bus stop in Penang, Malaysia has emerged online.

In the six-minute long video which was uploaded last Friday, January 5, and has garnered over 6,000 shares, and 700,00 views, the man dressed in sports attire, approached a group of women, asked what religion they belonged to.

After one of the group claimed to be Muslim, the man asked her why she was not wearing a headscarf.

When she told the man that wearing the hijab was their choice, the man became visibly agitated. He continued to chastise her, while she ignored him.

After berating the woman, few minutes into the clip, the man then slaps her across the head.

While many have called the situation an embarrassment, and call for a police report to be filed, others added that Islam is not about condemnation.
