The Nigeria Premier League (NPL) congress is now expected to take
place in Kano on December 6 after weeks of indefinite postponement by
the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The NFF board last month ordered the NPL to put on hold its 7th
annual congress which was scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 17 in
Kano.
NFF took the decision as part of its determination to see that all
outstanding issues surrounding the Premier League are sorted out before
the commencement of the new season.
The suspension was however, lifted on Thursday when Leaders of the two bodies met in a meeting which lasted for 5hours in Abuja.
NPL board member, Alhaji Owolabi Agbaji Wopa exclusively disclosed to
supersport.com that the congress will now decide on several issue
ranging from the sponsorship deal and the kickoff date for the 2012/2013
season.
“The issue between us and the NFF has been settled and they have
given us the green light to hold the congress next week Thursday where
many things will be decided.
“we have proposed December 21 and 22 as the new date for the new
season and we would make sure that the League starts this year,” Wopa
said to supersport.com.
Meanwhile, Delegates of all the twenty premier League Clubs are
expected to storm Kano on December 5 while the congress hold the next
day.
